Eligibility Requirements

Toomey Recovery Housing is designed for individuals who are ready to take the next step in their recovery journey. To ensure a safe and supportive environment for everyone, all residents must meet the following requirements.

Age

Must be 18 years or older.

Drug & Alcohol Screening

Must pass a drug and alcohol test upon entry, with agreement to random screenings throughout residency.

House Participation

Attendance at weekly house meetings and completion of assigned chores.

Sobriety

At least 30 days of sobriety before admission.

Commitment to Recovery

Willingness to attend at least three 12-step meetings per week, work with a sponsor, and actively engage in recovery.

Life Skills Classes

Participation in the first two life skills classes is mandatory; additional classes are optional but encouraged.

Financial Responsibility

Ability to pay rent on time (through employment, benefits, savings, or family support).

Behavior & Safety

No history of sexual offences, and any violent offences will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Mental Health Stability

Co-occurring mental health conditions are welcome if managed with treatment, but residents must not have unmanaged psychiatric issues that could compromise safety.

Employment or Community Involvement

Must be employed, seeking work, in school, or volunteering within two weeks of admission.

Legal Obligations

All court, probation, or parole requirements must be disclosed and followed.
